Communications to the community: Participative workshop Residence Program

October 4, 2023

Between emotions, listening and respect
As part of our community relations activities, a number of local residents questioned the potential impact of the Marban Alliance project on the value of their homes. Therefore, we decided to invite them to a specific participatory workshop on the subject. The meeting took place on Tuesday, October 3 at the Maison du Citoyen de Dubuisson, with around 50 participants.

The workshop was an opportunity for people living in the areas adjacent to the project’s planned infrastructures to work with us in developing the Marban Alliance Residence Program. The goal of the program would be to ensure that neighbors would still receive fair market value when selling their property, regardless of the completion of the Marban Alliance project.

“Citizens have shared some very legitimate concerns with us. A home means security and peace of mind. We must respect their reality and ensure that the concerns and needs they expressed are integrated into the development of the Marban Alliance project.” Myrzah Bello Tavares, Vice President, Marban Alliance.
We wanted this first participatory workshop in the development of the Residence Program to answer the questions raised about property values.
The proposed workshop sequence :

1. First meeting to exchange ideas (participatory workshop on October 3)
2. Individual meetings, as needed, and receipt of feedback
3. First program draft and presentation
4. Program improvements
5.Finalization of the program

Discussions, exchanges of views and future meetings will help refine the approach to this issue. Citizens are invited to contact Annabelle Brochu, liaison officer, to make suggestions or to schedule a meeting on this subject or any other aspect of the Marban Alliance project at (819) 355-1837 abrochu@o3mining.com
